Infertility

Most of you know, I've struggled with infertility for many years now, but am finally pregnant. (One day I'll get the whole story into words.) Because of this struggle I so enjoy reading blogs of others going through the same thing. I love to see a fresh perspective and the unwavering trust in God so many people display. It's so encouraging and continually reminds me that no matter what happens, be it infertility, miscarriage, loss of a newborn or any hardship, our God is sovereign and in control!! So today after jumping from blog to blog I stumbled on a new "fertility" blog. This particular couple has been trying to get pregnant for many years. After many infertility consults, insemination and 2 cycles of In-Vitro, they finally found out they were pregnant in August. This rang especially close to home because this is when I found out. However, her baby wasn't growing properly and the heart didn't seem to be developing as it should. They continued to pray for the life of their little one, but sadly, in late September she had a miscarriage. My heart breaks for her. I sit here with tears in my eyes imagining what she is going through. The toll all of this has taken on her body, having to tell people her good news turned bad, asking "why me??" and wondering if it will ever happen. It just doesn't seem fair, but like so many blogs I've read, this couple continues to remain faithful, reminding themselves of the truth that God has provided. He is a good God who showers us with grace, he loves us very much, has a plan for our lives, and will be with us for all eternity. He doesn't promise things will always go as we want, or that we'll always be happy, and this couple has accepted that. I pray that as my life continues with its ups and downs that I will be able to accept that as well, and rest assured in the promises God does give us! Today I am so thankful for a husband that loves me....for my family....for my friends....for my health....for food to eat....and for my sweet baby!! Thank you Jesus for I know these are not things you promise us, but gifts you have given us.
